Research

Providing sound scientific data to promote wise decision-making about New Jersey’s coastal and marine resources is at the heart of NJSGC’s mission. Since 1989, NJSGC has funded competitive research projects at the state’s leading universities focusing on various priority areas related to New Jersey’s most important coastal issues including hazard resilient coastal communities, healthy coastal ecosystems, a safe and sustainable seafood supply and sustainable coastal development. The goal of research is providing the necessary data required to resolve these coastal issues, develop fact-based marine policy and improve science literacy among New Jersey’s citizens.
