College Programs
NJSGC provides equal opportunity for any New Jersey student interested in studying the marine sciences by providing undergraduate and graduate courses each summer. Classes are held in cooperation with NJSGC participating member institutions. Students enrolled at these institutions may take NJSGC classes for direct credit. Transfer credit can be arranged for students at non-member schools through participating schools. Check individual class descriptions for course times and location.
To Register
Enrollment in NJSGC classes is limited. Contact Rosemary Higgins, College Program Coordinator at NJSGC, to reserve your seat(s). Prior to registering you must contact your NJSGC Campus Representative to obtain the course code and any other specific registration instructions. Within two weeks of your initial contact with NJSGC, you must also complete and return NJSGC’s College Program Application with the required fee ($33.75 per credit, payable to NJSGC or a total of $135.00 for a 4 credit class). This fee is non-refundable, however we do ask that you contact NJSGC if you decide not to attend the course.
Before the start of your class, you must also register with your participating college or university (or a participating NJSGC Member Institution if your school is non-participating) where the usual tuition and registration fees will be charged. Your registrar will need the course code that only your Campus Representative can provide.
No registrations will be accepted on the first day of class. A student package including location of your NJSGC hosted class will be mailed or emailed to the address supplied by you on your NJSGC College Program Application.
Class Cancellations
NJSGC reserves the right to cancel courses. Dates and times are also subject to change.
Grades
A copy of your grade report will be sent to you and your registrar. Grade posting can take several weeks after the conclusion of your course. If you need your grade quickly, notify Rosemary Higgins at the NJSGC.
Student housing is available at Monmouth University, West Long Branch.
