Legal Symposium Media Advisory

This symposium is designed to provide state and local decision-makers with information about legal and policy analyses that support the implementation of regional ocean planning in the Mid-Atlantic, from New York to Virginia. It will help identify innovative and practical legal and policy solutions to critical challenges. Key issues to be explored include multi-use ocean management, offshore alternative energy, habitats, fisheries, and living marine resources.

WHO:  National Sea Grant Law Center, New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium, Seton Hall University Law School, Monmouth University Urban Coast Institute and the Environmental Law Institute

WHAT: A regional meeting to discuss ocean-related legal and policy issues affecting the Mid-Atlantic.

WHY: As part of an ongoing National Sea Grant effort to identify legal and policy issues of our coasts, the symposium addresses timely and critical issues for New Jersey and the region, including Mid-Atlantic Regional Council on the Ocean (MARCO) priorities.
